Pros: Great color, contrast and no ghosting. Wide enough for side-by-side windows.
Cons: Price. Be ready to use the zoom function on your apps.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend it to a friend. I believe Dell has minimized or eliminated the noise issue in the most current version. For the price, the picture quality is outstanding.

I'm a gamer and was looking to upgrade from a 19in CRT to a widescreen LCD. I also wanted a widescreen to make it easier to bring work home and be more productive. Everything I read about the older 24in Dells told me to stay away due to noise issues. Then they came out with this model. I still saw reviews were people had issues but it appeared to be on earlier versions although I do see some people at the tail end of '06 had still reported noise issues. I bought mine anyway. I've had it now for 2 months. No noise, no dead pixels and excellent color with depth for gaming. I've been very happy with it. It was about as awe inspiring as when I went from a 15in CRT to a 19in CRT. I feel like I'm at the drive-in but with great picture color. You definitely want a graphics card that can drive it and drive it with a digital DVI connection. Great for doing work at home. Wide enough to use half the screen for one window and the other half for another. But, with the high native resolution, while crisp, it makes for smaller fonts making reading difficult sometimes unless you zoom in. Lastly, the built in menus are a little difficult to work but once you set them, you rarely need to go back. I do change video input sources though the menu to switch between my desktop and laptop which is only a matter of pushing the source selector button.
