Pros: Great grip, nice sweet spot, big barrel.
Cons: The cool finish gets scuffed up after a while. Don't use in really cold weather!
The Bottom Line: This is a great bat that has served me well in several games. Buy a carrying case for it to protect from scratches.

| mikegmi2's Full Review: Demarini Vexxum 3 Adult Bat |
I love the sound you get out of this bat when you CRACK one into the outfield into a nice gap! It cuts through the ball like butter...and with this bat I can get more distance out of the ball because of the great technology DeMarini puts into each of their bats. I've hit a few other DeMarini's, but I like this one the best.
Handle
The handle is composite, and is very strong becuase of the carbon reinforcement that is molded within. The handle is the only composite part on the bat...as it is connected to the barrel, which is aluminum. Another important part of the handle is the cap (very bottom of the bat). The cap is designed to dampen vibration and give you a smoother strink through the ball. The grip that comes on the handle is actually very comfortable. It is a Positak grip, and when wearing my batting gloves, it feels like this bat is an extention of my arms. I move it around and take practice swings, and the thing feels like its glued to my hands. Very nice grip.
Barrel
As I said earlier, the barrel of this bat is made of aluminum. It measures 2 5/8" in diameter, which makes it legal in all different leagues. I believe it has the longest, and widest barrel available that is legal to use in all of the different adult leagues. The barrel will get scuffed up as you use it. Tossing it along the gravel ground will put scratches on the nice glossy finish it has when you first get it. They say that you are supposed to rotate the bat a quarter revolution each tim you go up to bat...in order to break in the barrel. I can't say that i've done this, as it's hard to keep track of how you held the bat each time...but nonetheless just wanted to inform you of that. I can say that After using it for a month, it did seem to have more bounce and kick in it...than it did when I first was using it brand new.
The bat comes with a 12 month warranty from DeMarini, which is good to know. A buddy of mine used one of his softball DeMarini bats in some cold weather, and the thing literally cracked all the way down the barrel of the bat. You could hear it when it happened...and he was pretty bummed out...but being that it was still under warranty he got a brand new bat after sending it in and contacting the company.
I've been more than happy with this bat thus far. Mine is kinda scuffed up after using it last summer, but the scuff marks do not take away from the performance of the bat. Overall it's a durable bat that has great kick and power, and a really nice grip!
Swing away!
