| lenrock's Full Review: Denon AVR-1802 5.1 Channels Receiver |
First id like to explain that this is a great receiver for the money. It offers an array of features Id never use and many that I would.
I had shopped around for several receivers in this price range for months. Comparing the Onkyo 595, and the Harmon 220. I listened to them at several stores, taking notes and comparing prices. I chose the Denon for all the great reviews. My previous receiver was Kenwood Pro Logic(impulse buy) which served ok for years. Once I decided to buy the Denon, I had to decide from where. I wanted an Authorized dealer for the warranty. I could have paid less for it elsewhere but without the warranty. There were only 4 dealers in a 100 mile radius. 2 of them stopped carrying and the other from Sears with one line. My wait took an impatient 6 weeks because of lack of availability.
The sound reproduction is great. The power is sufficient. The Pro Logic II is a LEAP forward from regular Pro Logic.
The Auto Mode makes life alot easier than fiddling with the useless remote. I immediately purchased a learning remote.
DD and DTS sound amazing. The video switching is great for tying your whole system together. 5 separate channels make setup a breeze. Different volume controls for each helped make my uneven room balanced.
For tight crisp clear sound, PL II, DD, DTS, Video Switching and good quality its a tremendous value.
