Pros: Enough power (Drove wife & dog out of Room) 5 channel stereo is great!
Cons: Remote
The Bottom Line: Shines in Dolby Digital for the movies and reproduces music as it was meant to be heard.

| flashover's Full Review: Denon AVR-1802 5.1 Channels Receiver |
I purchased this unit as an upgrade of a Yamaha RV-901 to get DD 5.1...and for movie viewing it is head and shoulders above the old pro logic. The booms are boomier and you can hear crystal clear dialog through the center speaker. The Denon even has a dynamic compression setting that tones down the booms for late night viewing. Probably 80% of the usage this receiver will get at my house, however, is for music listening and I was not unhappy with the Yamaha, (It's moving to my bedroom), but the 5 channel stereo setting on the Denon gives a whole new aspect to music listening...it fills the room...I found myself pulling out CDs I hadn't listened to in years just to see how much better they sounded in 5 channels. What can I say? - I like it. (Be forewarned - I also liked Quadraphonic stereo in the '70s.
