| rx7speed's Full Review: Denon AVR-3803 7.1 Channels Receiver |
I just purchased my 3803. This was because I owned a Pioneer VSX-D811S and bought new Definitive Technology Speakers (pair of 2002's, 2004's & 2006's and a CLR 2500) and it could not drive the speakers without overloading. I considered buying a separate amp but instead opted to try this Denon. All I have to say is...WOW!!! And I mean it! The clarity of the sound was intense. The choices I had to set it up to my listening needs, and believe me I'm picky, was outstanding. I have a Sharpvision Projector and I was able to use the component video and connect all my other equipment to the receiver either by component video, S-video and just the regular video out and the picture quality was superb. This high current receiver is able to drive all my speakers WILD! This is in a good way! DTS-ES sound was the optimal out of this receiver. Dolby Digital-EX was good too! I will keep using and abusing this receiver and will let you know in a few months how I feel about it. For now I def recommend it especially if you are using good quality speakers.
