Pros: Keeps you dry for at least 5 hours
Cons: Need to be available in really large sizes.
Several years ago my Mother had a stroke. It left her paralyzed, aphasic and incontinent. As her primary caretaker I found myself in an entirely new environment regarding roducts available for incontinent adults. My mother is 5' and 160 lbs. Finding a product that would fit her properly and would not be impossible to put on her was quite a feat. She's entirely paralyzed on her right side and wheelchair bound.
There are numerous diaper designs so that working around her disability was not as impossible as it first seemed. Being paralyzed she couldn't put her own diaper on.
The Depends Fitted briefs have three tapes on either side allowing for a snug fit and easy access. This style comes in Medium( waist 19"-34", hip 26"-41",wt. under 170 lbs)and Large ( 35"-39", hip 42"-54", over 170 lbs. I would love to see an Extra Large. These sizes sound good but really don't fit according to the measurements. My Mother is now around 150lb but has a huge stomach and tiny hips.
Absorbancy ranges from light to heavy. I won't trust the light. We use these for airplane flight and what with the ever present possibility of a delay we want a lot of protection.
The Depends brief has a wetness indicator, Ultra Absorb-Loc Stay-Dry liner and soft leakage barriers. It has a more underwear like color not that we find this all that important. At my Mom's advanced age no one is looking at her underwear but me.
They're quite expensive $16.30 for a package of 18 but of course, to me they're worth their weight in gold.
