| Lifesdream's Full Review: Desitin Diaper Rash Ointment |
My daughter was extremely sick for a short time. Because of what her illness did to her body, she had started to get a HORRIBLE diaper rash. When she had her first diaper rash, I felt terrible! I thought it reflected on me as a mother, and definitely wanted to get rid of it as soon as I could.
I went to the local grocer to purchase diaper rash cream. There choices were Desitin and Desitin. I purchased it for around $5.00 and was on my way.
I put it on my daughter immediately. One aspect of this product that I like is that unlike some diaper rash creams, it goes on easy, and you are not left with cream on you! The downfall, the smell! My daughter had the cream on for approximately three hours, refreshing with each diaper change. At the end of three hours, the rash had disappeared!
Desitin acts like a barrier between the wet diaper and the rash. And, it is a strong barrier. The active ingredient in it is Zinc Oxide at 40%. With my daughter's sensitive skin, I have to take heed and purchase hypoallergenic products. You would be surprised that there are diaper rash creams on the market that are not hypoallergenic!
The last attribute of Desitin that I found appealing was that it works on adults to! In my fiance's physical labor seasonal job, his inner thigh chafes quite easily. We placed Desitin on it to see if it would help, and it cleared that up within hours as well.
