Pros: Cute box, smells good
Cons: No plumping, no shine, no color
The Bottom Line: This product is terrible! Save your money! Juicy Tubes Cooling are a much better product for the price!

| smh32775's Full Review: Dessert Treats Sweet Talk Deliciously Kissable Lip... |
*This review has been moved from its incorrect location and placed here where I believe it to belong*
I spoke too soon. Yesterday, I read a review about the Dessert Treats line of Kissable Lip Candy. I commented that I had smelled most of the products and tried severalin the Dessert Beauty line and had been less than pleased. After reading the review I had decided that I would never even bother to try the lip glosses. Well..never say never. Last night some friends threw me a mini bridal shower. They all know that I am a religious watcher of "The Newleyweds" and for one of my gifts, I received a sample set of Dessert Treats Kissable Lip Candy. Guess I would be trying them after all.
Curiosity
When I got home, I headed to the bathroom to try out my new plumping glosses. The set contained 6 interesting flavor/aromas. My choices included:
Cotton Candy: a light pink shade w/ glitter flecks
Creamsicle: a mauve color that has the smell of your favorite frozen creamsicle pop
Bubble Gum: a hot pink shade that smells like bubble yum
Banana Split: a bronze shade that smells like bananas. Has a lot of glitter in it
Lollipop: a bright red shade that smells like a red lollipop (cherry maybe?)
Butterscotch toffee: glitter, tan shade. Smells like a butterscotch candy
The came in a pink box that had a tie dyed design with floating lips. Each lip gloss in in a glass tube with the word "Dessert Treats" written on it and a picture of a cupcake. The lid is silver and screws off to reveal the wand applicator.
Color
First, the color pictured in the tube is NOT the color when applied. They look great in the tube but once on my lips, you can't distinguish one color from another (aside from the smell). Most of them give the color equivilant to the .99 brand of lip gloss. The wand is useless. Only a very, very tiny amount of color comes out each time. I had to dip the wand 5 or 6 times for one lip.
Shine
This lip gloss fails in the shine department as well. The only shine you get off of it is the occasional reflection off of the glitter chunks. The glitter is really annoying as well. I am one of those people who "chew their lipstick". If I feel something on my lips, I'll bite at it. The glitter leaves your lips feeling like you just ate saltine crackers and the left over crumbs are sticking to your lip gloss. It's really not a good feeling..or look.
Plumping?
I did not notice any plumping action in my lips, nor did I feel any tingling or cooling which usually indicated that plumping is occuring. My lips did not feel any different in size. The only plumping that occured was from me biting at my lips to get the annoying glitter off of them.
Lasting?
This is the only area that I would give this plumping lip gloss a passing score. I had put some on before going to bed to test it's wearing length. Although I did not do any talking, eating or drinking, the gloss lasted almost 6 hours. It looked the same in the morning minus the glitter that I'd eaten.
Pass or Fail?
Desserts Treats Kissable Lip Candy fails miserably! I don't think I would even give it an F if it weren't for the fact that it refuses to leave your lips once applied.
Boring Details
Ingredients for these lip failures are:
helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Polybutene, Octyldodecanol, Disterdimonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Euphorbia Cerifera Wax, Cpernicia Cerifera Wax, Calcuim Sodium Brorsilicate, Trihydroxystearin, Tocopherol, tocopheryl Acetate, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Menthol, bumetrizole, Proplylparaben, N&A Flavor, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Carmine, Iron Oxides, Red6, Red7 Lake
Although I got this as a gift, the price tag says it was purchased from Claires for $23. You can also find Dessert products through QVC, Wahlgreens (here in AZ) and at Desserttreats.com.
All I have to say is...there will be no Dessert for me!
