Pros:extremely accurate almost burr free cuts dull blades can be resharpened
Cons:price of blade if you start to force the cut and chip teeth
This saw is a must have for those who need accuracy and speed in fabrication. I have had mine now for over 8 yrs and wish I had purchased one sooner, it cuts square tubing, chanel iron, angle iron and solid stock up to 5 inches thick with no problem. With accuracy of less than a 1/16 of a inch. It beats the abrasive blade saws hands down, Now don't get me wrong the abrasive blade saws have there uses but during a cut the blade will move left and right, also the blade will wear down and cutting power and speed will decrease. For speed and accuracy the DW 872 will win every time. I have made hand railings, and utility trailers and many other items using my dewalt saw. And it sure beats using a hacksaw. saw blades out last the abrasive disks about 20 to 1, care must be used to cut thin wall tubing as not force the saw into the metal let it cut at its own speed, if you force it it can cause the saw to grab hard and possibly chip a tooth. Once you use it you will wonder how you did things with out it.
