The Diamondback Sorrento 2007 is a GREAT bike.
These are available from chain outdoors stores like Dick's sporting goods, Outdoor Provision Co. etc. So your getting a better bike than the Wal-Mart, Target Crap bikes with cheap componets.
The Diamondback Sorrento is actually a great Mountain Bike and an excellent value for the money. I've owned several MT bikes over the years including several Trek's, Cannondales, Etc. that cost me close to $1000. The Diamondback Sorrento is everybit as good as those "top of the line" bike brands.
The Frame is built like a TANK. You would have a very hard time breaking this frame. It's a little HEAVY as far as MT bikes go (the bike weighs about 25 lbs) and it's made from 6061 Heat Treated Aluminum but it's STRONG and when it comes to a really good MT Bike you want a STRONG Frame over a lightweight frame.
The best part is the COMPONETS that come standard on this bike, they are all Shimano and it has a Spinner front shock. GREAT working shifters, derailers, etc. Brakes are EXCELLENT and there the Quick Release type for easy tire changes. I never have any trouble with fast shifts, power on shifting, etc.
This is the most stable bike I've ever ridden. The steering is excellent, it's VERY EASY to ride without holding the handlebars. The bike tracks super straight and true.
The gears are excellent with 3 selections in the front and 8 in the back. There is no hill this baby cannot climb. It's very easy to ride any surface or hill without becoming tired.
The rims are also STRONG and resist bending and warping like other High Dollar but fragile rims.
Overall this is one great bike. It's nice, but not TOO NICE. I once owned a Trek Y-22 and it attracted TOO MUCH attention. Everywhere I rode people would BUG me about it, ask questions, want to challenge me, etc. The Diamondback gives you the quality and fun of a great bike without the Cost and Hastle of a High End bike.
