| momn8r0306's Full Review: Diaper Doublers |
I was no stranger to middle of the night or early morning diaper leaks. It happened with my firstborn, so when my baby started waking up with wet pajamas and bedsheet in the mornings, I resigned myself to having to put her in one size larger diaper at night.
I recalled having had someone post a question on a message board I frequented about where to find "Diaper Doublers". I decided it warranted further investigation and a possible trial of the product. I was discouraged by the negative review I found on EP, but since there was only one review, I plunged ahead, skeptical at best.
I am so glad I did! I purchased a package of 30 Diaper Doublers at my local Publix supermarket for about $3.00 - money well spent. The packaging is somewhat cheesy, has an almost industrial low budget look - not surprising considering they are manufactured by Tyco Healthcare, who provides a lot of hospital and medical supplies. The product belies the packaging though.
Inside, you find what could pass for an old-fashioned sanitary napkin (the kind you would use with a belt), sans bulk. The pad is a long rectangle....about 10 inches long, 3 inches wide, and perhaps 1/4 inch thick. It appears to be cotton, or some variant thereof, enclosed in a sleeve like that of a gauze pad. It is just the perfect size to fit inside the diaper. The package even boasts that it fits inside inner leg gathers of todays diapers, which it does quite well.
I've been using these inside my baby's diaper at bedtime for a week & a half.....it is such a relief to not have to worry about changing her out of wet pajamas first thing in the morning or having to change the sheet in her crib every day. It's also much easier than keeping up with two sizes of diapers whether it is daytime or nightime. I can easily forsee using these for the duration of my baby's diaper days....er, nights. ;-)
