Pros: No more leaking 99% of the time and inexpensive to try
Cons: Hard to find at brick and mortar stores
The Bottom Line: If your child has leakage issues, try the Diaper Doubler. They are inexpensive and worked for us. BTW, I joined Epinions just to write this positive review.

| cartersmom06's Full Review: Diaper Doublers |
I have been scouring the web trying to find the elusive Diaper Doublers because they really worked for my six month old son. He has used them for the past month and leaks have been practically non-existent.
Basically, I diaper him around 7:30pm and don't change him again until 7:30am so he can sleep uninterrupted.
Recently, when we ran out, I went to Babies R Us to get more but they were out, so I opted for Huggies Overnight diapers which just don't measure up. I was using the Doubler with Pampers Cruisers because the Cruisers fit so well on the legs. My previous favorite fit with the Doubler was paired with Pampers Swaddlers.
I was surprised to read that the inserts didn't work well for some people, but happy they have been working for us. My son started using Diaper Doublers since five months old. He is a big boy in the 90th percentile for height and 80th percentile for weight and they still work for him. So far he is exclusively breastfed and perhaps when he gets bigger and or starts on solids the doublers may not work as well.
Here's how they work: they are like a thin maxipad (about 5/8" thick) that simply inserts into the diaper. Now, as to diaper size, my son is 17 pounds and is just starting to use size three diapers (16-28 pounds) so there is still lots of room to add the insert. If your child is already at the high end of the diaper size, it probably makes sense to go up one size (provided they fit well in the leg area) and use the insert. I position the pad slightly forward since I have a boy and that is where I want to absorb more.
Diaper Doublers hold a lot of liquid. When I change my son in the morning, I'm usually amazed how packed his diaper and the insert are. If you have an unusually wet child, you could try two (if you are at the low end of the diaper size), or just change once at night, or more often. There is a concern as to how comfortable more than one insert might be for your child . . . maybe more of an issue if used during the day.
I called the Diaper Doubler makers to find where I could purchase them and based on my zipcode they gave me some stores (Albertsons and a few others) that might carry them including the more ubiquitous Toys R Us. They also gave me an 800 # to order them. I was also able to find them in discount packs of 90 (www.healthpursuit.com)and 180 (www.diapersite.com).
They are cheap enough to try at $3.00/30 if you can find them.
