Note: as with most of the items I review in this category the items are not toys, games, game pieces, game boards, or game machines, nor are they office supplies or Software  per se, rather these  are classroom type materials intended for use with Early Childhood, primary and older age Elementary students in a classroom or home school setting.

This product is a set of Phonics based materials

----------------------------

Didax Educational Resources™ Phonemic Critical Thinking Awareness Cards are useful for encouraging critical thinking skills to grow awareness of phonemes is a series of Phonics based cards handy for use during instruction and reinforcement activities.  6 x 9 inch cards are robust, full color, and include teaching notes and a phoneme summary card.

As with other materials no cards, or other items are likely to teach Little Learners the sounds or phonemes, however, when used by instructors as a method allowing Little Learners to explore the words and discover the phonetic make up of the pictured items and then moved to the reinforcement work area for further work to hone skills the cards are very useful.

Instruction regarding Phonemic Awareness and Phonological Understanding is a public education teaching obligation stated in most if not all state instructional standards.  As a Common Core Foundational Skill Phonological Awareness standard Little Learners are expected to know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.

First Grade students will grow and show signs of comprehension of phonological, phonemic, awareness as they segment spoken single-syllable words into their complete sequence of individual sounds (phonemes) per the Common Core goals.

In general monosyllabic, single syllable, words can easily be sectioned into parts, including onset and rime as Little Learners isolate and pronounce initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in spoken single-syllable words per Common Core goals. While onset and rime may be larger units than are phonemes they are smaller units than are syllables themselves. Onset is the initial consonant sound and rime is the vowel and the rest of the syllable following.

Osage County First Grade works diligently to verbally create single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends per the Common Core Goals.

Each card presents four images having a common sound allowing Little Learners to discover and identify the phonetic sound.  On the back of the cards is found names of the illustrations, emphasizing the common sound.

Osage County First Grade is introduced to the 44 Phonemic Awareness Critical Thinking cards during the instructional portion of lessons as Little Learners are presented skills and encouraged to grow evaluation skills to increase an awareness of phonemes.

Produced via durable papers generated from carefully selected raw materials particularly chosen to meet governmental and industry standards concerning sturdiness, appropriateness and safety for use in locations where young children can be predicted to be present along with use of non-hazardous, child friendly inks for imprinting graphics; these materials are especially useful for classroom instructional and lesson strengthening usage.

Happy to recommend Didax Educational Resources™ Phonemic Critical Thinking Awareness Cards
