Pros: It beeps when it's done, batteries last and last
Cons: None that I can think of
Okay, this is what I use at home. The B&D digital thermometer is affordable, convenient, and accurate.
I paid $9.49 at a local chain department store for the B&D digital thermometer. It has lasted two years and through two kids and two adults who check their temps at the first sign of illness. However, when the batteries start to go, the temperature readings are no longer accurate.
The plastic case is somewhat stiff. My little one complains at times that it's too hard, but she deals with it. The probe is rounded on the end so that it does not cause discomfort under the tongue. There are times we use this for an armpit thermometer.
The temperature is usually finished in around 1 min. or less. When the batteries are starting to run out, the temps take longer.
The numerals are in LCD numerals that are a decent size to read.
I must say the B&D digital thermometer is very durable as it has survived being dropped and washed too thoroughly by our 5 year old. Usually we use the little alcohol wipes on it as the instructions recommend, however, it has been held under running tap water a couple of times with no harm done...teenagers (they never read directions)
So, I heartily recommend this B&D digital thermometer with no reservations.
