Boring details (albeit necessary) follow commentary.
Looks aren't everything, even though as a girly-girl teenager (once upon a very long time ago), I once claimed, "Looks over pain." Yeah, that's me, I'm the one who walked Disneyland in heels.
Some of you may be thinking it doesn't look that bad. After all, it's pink and shows the screen. What's not to love (looks-wise)?
You, my dear, just don't know the iPhone. It's sleek, smooth, and awesome... you can't improve on beauty. However, you can improve on cellular phone safety. Trust me, who wants to replace the iPhone because maybe you dropped it one too many times unprotected? Or the earbuds and mic that comes with it because you misplaced them? Rather than remind you without the iPhone warranty or insurance, it'll set you ANOTHER $400 back, just use the "Integrated Headset Management System"
They call it a "gel-pack." I call it "flimsy rubber." But it feels good. Really, really good.
iPhone's Jam Jacket has little raised bumps on the sides, which helps tremendously with your grip; I remind you this Baby's slippery sans jacket. On the frontside top of the jacket, there are two oblong holes. One's for hearing, the other... beat's me. I really have no clue. Doesn't matter, though, since it doesn't subtract from the looks nor the functionality.
The bottom front shows the logo (nearly unrecognizable) and a place to place your finger in order to reach your home page or to bring up your screen when the screensaver is running (which is basically a blank screen).
If the screen is facing you, bottom has a slot for your USB cord (charge, sync, update, etc.) and the speakers to the iPhone. Still facing you, the left side has two oblong holes. One shows the volume button, the other is very small and reveals the button you push up or down to turn off the sounds without shutting the iPhone down.
Top of the jacket is open in two holes as well. The round hole is where you plug your headphones (came with your iPhone), the other (oblong again) is a button you can push to get to your login screen or to put the phone on break.
We are left with the back of the jacket. It's a bit ugly and odd, but there is a raised thing-a-ma-bob-gingy. It doesn't help you to keep it in your pocket, but it's a handy place to store your headphones.
The back also boasts and very small hole. It's an odd thing, no one ever gets it unless they've studied the phone or have one or borrow someone's... believe it or not, it's the opening to the camera.
User's Tip:
Speaking of the back of the jacket, do you use your iPhone headphones? Before you wrap them around the back of your Pink Jam Jacket back, PLUGin the connector to the phone. Yes, plug it in (do NOT put your earphones, in however). Now, starting with the wire nearest to the connector and from the opposite end of the earphones, loosely-at-first wrap the wire around your wire-wrap-gel-back. When you get to the end of the wire, put the earpieces in the gel-holes gently and a bit loosely. Lastly, unplug your connector and place that into the gel-connector-hole.
Downfall:
AT&T (Cingular) easily sold the jacket to me when I bought the phone. It tore within not quite two months. Without questions, AT&T took it back and gave me a new one. I've had it nearly nine months. I need a new one, I literally JUST NOW tore it again. Sigh.
Overall:
Digital Lifetstyle Outfitters have carved a niche in the electronics' age. If you spend hundreds of dollars on a gadget, you must be willing to spend a little more to keep it safe.
Overall, it works fine. But... in my opinion, if looks truly matter, you can't go wrong with DLO's Hybrid Shell (which comes with a bonus screen protector), yet you can't use "nothing" and expect to keep your phone safe. Go for the gold, the best priced out of all the iPhone protectors may save you your sanity, if not your cellular telephone.
