| uffda6's Full Review: Dimetapp Elixir |
I have depended on Dimetapp elixir for years. I guess you could call me a die hard fan. When I was young, about 12 years old, Dimetapp was fairly new, and it was available only by prescription. Every year I could count on getting severe bronchitis, and a bad ear infection. The doctor back then always prescribed the Dimetapp, with antibiotics of course.
Well several years later, my first child seemed to suffer from frequent ear infections. The amoxicillin, took care of the infection, but the Dimetapp seemed to clear up the fluid. During the fall months, it was evident that she suffered from seasonal allergies, and I would just use the Dimetapp 1 teaspoon each morning, and 1 teaspoon each night. Later after consulting an allergist because of other allergies, he told me that I had probably saved her hearing, by using the Dimetapp that way.
Now that I have 3 more children, I can say that several ear infections, and many bottle of Dimetapp latter, I still rely on it for unstuffing those, little noses, and ears. As soon as I hear " mommy I'm stuffy" I know that Dimetapp season has started. We rarely have ear infections, and I also use humidifiers, but it seems that the Dimetapp is what really keeps this house unstuffed.
I try not to over use it, because I don't like to use any medicine for any length of time. However if you want to save those trips to the doctors for such things like ear infections, I advise having this on hand.
