Pros: Lightweight, compact and powerful enough
Cons: Regular price is too steep for this gadget.
On a recent trip to Target, my wife noticed a clearance end-cap filled with these Dirt Devil Kruz vacuums. Neither one of us really knew anything about them, but it looked like it would function like a dustbuster with a long handle. At $25, how could we go wrong?
We have hardwood and tile floors in several rooms, with area rugs, and often use a dustbuster around the perimeter of the rugs. The Kruz allows us to continue this tradition without getting down an all fours ! The battery charges quickly and we have yet to drain it completely with just under 10 minutes of continuous use. The suction is better than expected and is slightly more powerful then a traditional dustbuster. The unit is also very light weight and works great on our hardwood stairs. It is nimble enough to get right up to the edges. The biggest downfall is the small canister size. This vacuum fills up quickly and needs to be emptied often. The process of emptying is quick and easy, but I would say it’s a minor design flaw.
The Kruz really is attractive enough to leave standing in a corner instead of hiding in a closet where there are unlikely to be any outlets. The charger sits on the floor and acts as a stand, and the vacuum has a glowing white light to show that it is charging properly – very modern looking.
Overall, this is a good product and well worth the $25 I spent; although, if I had seen it for full price ($50 at Target) I’d still be using my old dustbuster.
