| Brettkatt's Full Review: Sue Kueffner - Discovery Farm |
Hi, Sweet Pea here. My daddy finally allowed me to write another review. This one is on my favorite book. It is called Discovery farm and is a Lamaze book. I want to spread the word about this book so that other babies, like me, can enjoy it too.
The book is an eight-page book. If the cover and the back of this book are counted, then it has 10 pages. The front cover has two cows on and some words. Daddy tells me that the words are the title. Thats right, I can type but I cant read yet. Now back to the book. The big cow has a bell that jingles. The smaller of the two cows is attached by Velcro. It also has a strap attached to it. The strap is used to keep the book closed. When the book is opened, daddy and mommy move the cow to another page. The front is also colorful. With blue and green. I guess it is the sky and grass.
The second page is orange and has a chick in an egg. The chick is saying Peep, Peep There is a string attached to the little fellows head so that it wont get lost. I like taking. the chick out of the egg and gnawing on it. I heard that everything taste like chicken. If this is true, then everything I have does taste like chicken.
The next page has four pigs on it. There is a parent pig and three piglets. They are all playing in a troth. The big pig is saying Oink! Oink! The big pigs tail also stick out and is soft to the touch. I dont really spend much time on this page.
Baa! Baa! is what the three sheep are saying on page three. There is also a crinkly Tractor on this page. I love to grab the tractor and move it around so that I can see the soft and feel the fuzzy sheep. I also love to make the tractor crunch. I love the sound that it makes. It also taste like chicken.
The detachable duck is on page four. It says Quack, quack. It is swimming in a pond with a frightened fish. I guess the fish is scared that the duck may eat it. The duck feel rough. When I am done with the book, daddy can use it to clean the pans.
Pages five and six have horses and cows on it. One house can come off and has a string attached to it. It is soft and taste like chicken. They say neigh, neigh! Cows are saying Moo, moo! The little cow from the front is here. He isnt tasty. I guess it is the Velcro on him that ruins the flavor.
The last two pages have a barn door, two bags of oats, and a hay stack on them. These three things can be moved to see all the animals sleeping in the barn. There is also a dog and a moon on these pages. The bottom of the last pages says Quiet now. Good Night!
The back has a drawing of the chick and the egg; nothing too exciting here.
Mommy and Daddy like this book because it is soft and that it teaches me what different animals look like and the sounds they make. I like this book because it is fun to play with the things and see what different animal look like.
In final thought I would recommend this book. I like it and your baby will too.
Thank you for reading,
Sweet Pea.
Now a word from Dad
Discovery Farm is a book that I like. First of all it is made entirely form fabric
(not counting the Velcro). The softness is very good for when Sweet Pea starts tossing the book around. If it hits her head it wont hurt. Even though she is only eight months old. I think it is good for teaching her what animals look like and the sounds they make. Most of the animals are soft and fuzzy. Finally, she seems to get a lot of enjoyment out of this book. There is not much to it outside of what Sweet Pea described. I am glad that we have it and I feel that any baby would be luck to have it.
Thanks for reading.
Brett
