The Snuggle Time Activity Book is one of the many toys I've played with both at home and at work with my little kids.

The Discovery Toys Snuggle Time Activity Book is a Discovery Toy product, which is only available through Discovery Toy Consultants. It can also be purchased second-hand. I think the toy has been discontinued by Discovery Toys. It did retail for approximately $16.00.

My Experience
The Book
The Snuggle Time Activity Book consists of eight different pages (including the cover and the back page). The cover of the book has a blue background with a red bed, green flannel blanket, and a small yellow teddy bear that can be tucked underneath the blanket (pocket). The yellow teddy bear has a green felt shirt and has its right foot/leg anchored to the page by a five-inch pink rope. The footboard of the bed has the words "Snuggle Time" written on it.
Opening up the book reveals two cute animals. On the left page is a happy white sheep on a blue background. The body of the sheep has a large patch of fuzzy, somewhat clumpy white material to simulate wool. On the right side is a bright pink elephant with a big, yellow flappy ear that can be turned to reveal the elephant's face. The yellow ear has some crinkly material inside it. The body of the elephant has some white bumps on it that makes it textured. The pink elephant is on a green background.
Turning the page reveals another two cute pictures. On the left is a fishbowl with a yellow fish that is attached to the upper right side of the bowl by a red 4.5 inch red rope. The fishbowl has thin, clear netting so that the fish can stay inside the bowl. I was a bit concerned that the netting would rip, but after countless number of plays, the netting has held up beautifully. The fishbowl is on a green background. On the opposite page is a red haired child with a green shirt and a yellow crown. This is probably the least favorite page of the kiddos because the collar is the only thing that stands out on this page. The collar is white and a bit ruffled and is rather unimpressive.
Another turn of the page reveals a smiling sun on one page and a green car on the right. The sun is a great hit among the kiddos because when you lift up the front flap of the sun, it reveals a reflective, mirror-like surface. The reflective circle is not breakable. I find that the little kiddos like to play with the sun the most because they can see their own images in the reflection once the flap is lifted. The opposite page has a green car that has a door that can be swung away. Inside the door is a flat, round rattle that kids love to shake.
The back of the book is the Discovery Toy logo with the kid dressed in felt. It is a rather unremarkable page.
Experience with the Activity Book
Kids love the Discovery Toy Snuggle Time Activity Book. I have seen little ones around the 12 month age range play with it and have used it with kiddos around three years of age. The younger ones enjoy the sensory experience the book has to offer, especially with the crinkly elephant ear and the rattle of the car door. I have observed the little ones using the book as a rattle, shaking the book to hear the car door rattle. With the toddlers, I have found that the Snuggle Time Activity Book is great for identifying objects, colors, and textures. Since there is such a wide array of colors, it is an excellent book to point and identify. Usually we will go through all the colors on one page and then identify the objects on that same page. The pictures are easy to identify, though I have found the page with the child with the red hair and the crown to be confusing for kids. I have had kids identify the child as a clown and as a mommy. There's no consensus with that picture.
I love that the book is durable and washable. It has been handwashed a few times due to drool attacks and the book has held up well. I also love that the book is colorful and inviting. The softness of the book is a great alternative to the hard, cardboard paged books.
Two complaints about the book: 1) Fading. I have noticed that the color on the front cover has started to fade. We have had the book for a little more than two years. I suspect the other pages have not faded as quickly as the cover because the book is usually closed. 2) Play-time/attention holder. Though the book is excellent, it offers limited play time for the kids and they will quickly abandon the book for other toys. Even after going through all the pages and identifying everything possible on the page, the amount of time spent playing with the book is not long.
Overall Thoughts
Discovery Toy's Snuggle Time Activity Book is a great baby's first book. It offers a variety of sensory experiences for little ones.
