I believe there is no age that is too young to start learning, so we've been teaching our daughter since she was born. So when my friend gave us these Mickey Mouse Colors and Shape Learning cards, it was just an additional tool for her to learn!

The Mickey Mouse Colors and Shape cards have 8 cards each of each different shapes - each in different colors. The rectangle shape only had 4 but we weren't sure if we lost the other 4 or if that is how it comes (we played with it at the party so they could have been lost). However after reading the product description online it says there are only 36 cards so it seems only 4 rectangles were meant to be in the pack - weird! The other shapes - diamond, circle, triangle, square - all have 8 each. I appreciated that these cards have 8 different colors. Many color learning tools only have 4-5 colors, but this has double that - pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and brown. Kids need to learn more than just the basics and this allows her to practice all her colors.
At 23 months, my daughter already knows all her colors and shapes because, as I mentioned, we've been teaching her since she was born. She has many toys with colors and shapes, yet I still love these cards. First of all, it allows us to play games with her now. I'll spread all the cards on the floor and ask her to find all the circles. Or we can play games where she has to flip and match colors or shapes. We also try to put the shapes and colors in rainbow order. Another reason the cards are great is because they are portable. It only takes up a small spot in the diaper bag and if we are going to a party it is a great thing to bring to entertain her. Hand these cards to almost anyone in the room and suddenly she will start playing with them, even though she is normally pretty shy. Finally, these Mickey Mouse cards have some well known Mickey Mouse characters on it, which my daughter enjoys.
These cards are well made and pretty durable. We actually already had another set of cards for colors and shapes that doesn't seem to hold up as well as these. Of course any flashcards would be bent or squished if your kid is rough with them, but these seem pretty strong. We try to stop her from bending them, and so far there are no rips. This is a cute set of cards that I would not hesitate to give as a gift, especially to a Mickey Mouse fan. She ripped the box apart the day we got them, so we use a Nesquik containter (my new favorite trick!) to keep them together. Enjoy and start the learning early!
