mismamac's Full Review: Disney Princess 36 Jasmine Jumbo Plush Doll
My daughter has been a Disney Princess fan for as long as I can recall. She is now 6 years old but I think her main attraction to the Princesses began when she was about 3.
It started with a few simple wall clings and a trunk of Disney Princess dress up clothes. Her collection has since expanded from movies, shoes, games, and clocks to bedding and plush stuffed dolls.
Like most little girls my daughter has her favorite Princesses. When asked who her favorite Disney Princess is she will quickly respond with Belle being first and Jasmine coming in as 2nd.
Truthfully her favorite character changes from day to day. This past Halloween she dressed up as Jasmine. When we visited Walt Disney World she just had to dress up like Jasmine. And when we visited our Disney Store, which has since gone out of business (boo-hoo) she just had to have a plush Jasmine doll. I couldn't say no, the doll was clearanced to $8.00 - much less than her original price tag of $29.50!
Jasmine is so very soft with velvety deep tan skin. Her big brown eyes, mouth, and other facial features are embroidered and favor that of the dazzling animated beauty. Jasmine's hair is made from a black velvety material and is pulled back as Jasmine traditionally wears it.
Jasmine's wears a two piece shimmery purple bedlah with poofy pants. The top has puffed long sleeves and reveals her midriff including her embrodiered belly button. The outfit is the same style as the one she wears in the movie but this one is purple rather than teal. Jasmine is complete with purple shoes, a gold necklace and large gold earrings. The clothes, shoes and jewelry are sewn on and can not be removed.
This large Jasmine doll measures about 36 inches in length. This plush doll can not be posed so Jasmine usually just lies on my daughter's bed for decoration. My daughter also likes to cuddle up with Jasmine at night. It's sort of funny given the length of the doll - she takes up as much room (well almost) as my daughter.
In all honesty I don't see what my daughter's fascination is with the Disney plush dolls since she isn't a huge doll fan to begin with. She has this large Jasmine doll along with a smaller Belle doll. She can't have a tea party with Jasmine because she won't sit up alone; she can't change her clothes since the clothes are sewn on; Jasmine doesn't sing or talk - she is just a plush doll - period!
When I ask my little girl what it is she likes about the doll she responds with, "she is pretty, her clothes are pretty, and when I dress up (in the Jasmine costume) I look just like her". I guess that sums it up and makes it all worthwhile.
Jasmine Plush Doll can be cared for by spot cleaning with a damp cloth. As far as age suitability, I think this doll could be for anyone who is a fan of the Disney Princess Jasmine. There are no small parts on this doll and all her features are embroidered. As with any plush doll or animal it should be left out of a crib.
A variety of Disney Plush Princesses can be found in the Disney Store, Disney Outlet or online at http://www.disneystore.com/.
Thank you for reading my review of the Jasmine Plush Doll. Happy Holidays ~2008~
