The Disney Princess Teapot was a Christmas gift last year when my daughter was three. She didnt really start playing with it until about six months ago on and off.
Basically, it is a large clear plastic teapot with four full settings of dishes inside it, including the tea cups, the saucers, and spoons and snack plates and bowls. In total, there are 28 pieces. It also comes with a cute pink handle on the large teapot and a very secure pink top decorated with hearts that keeps all the pieces inside it without tipping over. There are three princess on the front of the teapot- Jasmine, Ariel, and Cinderella.
It also comes with what looks like a mini vase and a mini teapot for your little one to pretend she is pouring the tea into the teacups. Im not sure what the vase is for. Also, the mini teapot has a top that can come out. I tried to pull it out and it was difficult. All the pieces are in pink and purple, very girly.
On many pieces there is a small picture of a princess, crowns, or Cinderellas shoe. The pictures are stickers and my daughter has only had Disney Princess Teapot one year and most of the stickers have rubbed off already.
Clean up is fairly easy and the pieces all fit back into the large teapot fairly easily. The pieces can be cleaned with a wipe just in case the child actually does put the teapot to their mouth or uses the spoon.
And does my four year old like it? She likes it when she is in the mood. But when she does take it out to play with, it can keep her busy for about an hour. And that helps me to finish cooking dinner. She asks me what kind of tea I would like, and she serves it to me along with a spoon on top of a saucer. Then she asks me what I would like to eat with it, and she puts food from her kitchen set on one of the small dishes and puts that on the counter for me. She has a lot of fun with it.
It is very easy for my daughter to carry it from room to room because it is light and has a very large handle. It has a wide base so it stays straight and doesnt wobble.
If she isnt serving me and making her own interesting concoctions of coffee and chocolate, she can count all the pieces, or separate the bowls from the cups.
It just doesnt seem sturdy enough and the stickers are already rubbing off. The large teapot is made of a thin plastic and can easily be bent or dented.
The recommended age is from 36 months and up. The plasticware is small and can pose a choking hazard.
I honestly think that Disney Princess Teapot is overpriced for what it seems like a cheap plastic toy. Im glad it was a gift and that she enjoys, but I wouldnt buy it for her otherwise.
You can find it at Amazon for $29.99 http://www.amazon.com/Disney-65463-Princess-Teapot/dp/B0000634SE/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1200364958&sr=8-1
