It makes perfect sense, Dave.
I should have expanded on my comment just to say that yeah, reading the same description over and over turns into a chore. Of course, writing variations on it would be even more of one!

Heh, nice title there. :-)
To answer both you and Tipu, the reason for the "macro" comment was because there are 22 Who books a year, and I don't know how new and interesting I can make a description of Dr. Who like Redlass was speaking of when I have to do it 22 times a year. What scmrak suggested in a private email to me, though, I think I will do. I will do an introduction to the book itself, then separate my description of the program before going into the review.
I just know how much I hate reading the same description over and over and over again when I already know what the person is talking about. If I separate it, then the reader who's already familiar with Who can easily skip it.
Does that make sense?

Count me in as another fan, though I really don't like Sylvester McCoy's Doctor all that much.
"The Psychic Circus," though, was an episode that sticks with me, so he can't be all bad. (I hate clowns, now!)
I never picked up a Who book. Perhaps I should!
Thanks for the review. Oh, and no macros.

Allow me to butt into this powwow . . . personally, i'm with scmrak, no macros is my preference . . . and personally, rather than your intro section about who Who is (are), i'd have incorporated that info into the flow of the epinion . . . but that's only because i was dropped on my head as a child and then dropkicked down a ventilation shaft . . .
. . . i can't recall precisely, but i think either alawston or his brother divinecheese are Who fans.
Nice work here David! ...t-žoo

Good review, but a postscript to Redlass's advice. I know you were kidding, but don't "make it a macro." It's kind of irritating to see the exact same paragraph at the head of every review someone's written on a series. Instead, build varying details into the body of the review, such as pointing out how the Dr did the same thing in (book A) or how in this text he's doing something different from (book B). See where I'm going? It makes the different reviews "come alive," as it were...
Regardless, good review.

Hi Redlass
Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll make it a macro. :-)
Have you checked out my previous Who reviews?

A fellow Who fan!!
Actually, I haven't watched any of the series past Peter Davidson as I haven't had a television for the past 15 years. This is definitely one of the series' that I miss. I ought to look for the books as I enjoyed those too.
Oh, (if ya don't mind a little unsolicited advice) you might have some readers who are completely unfamiliar with the Who series. It might help to introduce them a little to Who and why there are 7 doctors.
