We are what we eat. Unfortunately my little dog and I look like sausages, but we also care about our health and immune systems which is why I purchased a bottle of Nutri-Vet Multi-Tab Complete vitamins for my pooch. It seemed pretty apparent that table scraps and the usual dog-food fare were not going to be enough to keep my working service dog at his best. When the well runs dry nutritionally with my pet, his tail actually starts to drag and he waits for me to fetch the toys.
When I started my pet on these vitamins, I could truly see a difference. The tabs are large and brown and gritty and so I crush them down with a drop of water and mix it in with his usual food. There is no unusual flavor or smell to the vitamin pill, so he does not realize that his food is being subsidized.
I purchased the blue and white bottle that says "chewables" with antioxidants. There are 60 tablets to a bottle and they are not exactly inexpensive ($15-$25), but can be found for less at discount stores. They can be stored in a cool dry cupboard, are 100 percent guaranteed (with proof of purchase) and are made up of liver meal, vitamins D3 and B12, plus a lot of stuff I do not understand but have the seal from the National Animal Supplement Council.
One tablet is suggested for 20 lbs of the dog's body weight and should be fed intermittently. You will be able to notice the difference in your dog almost within hours. My dog had more get up and go, attentiveness and alertness and also became less moody. He appeared to be more satisfied at meal time when this product was added into the dinner. I did notice a slight thirst increase, but it has been hot and sunny lately too.
The plastic bottle has an air tight screw on lid and stays fresh. I also give my dog Vitabones and Vitachews by AttaBoy, but they do not work as well as these single supplement tablets.
