miltapher's Full Review: Dogswell Vitality Lamb and Sweet Potato Canned Dog...
I recently purchased a small stash of Dogswell canned dog food from a local overstock store. I bought a few different kinds of the product with glee. I did not skip over Dogswell's Vitality Lamb and Sweet Potato Stew Recipe.
What struck me and made me excited over this bargain was the ingredients. This canned dog food is of exceptional quality and contains no ingredients I do not want my dog eating. My dog is a sensitive small mixed breed dog with an under-bite. He has skin allergies and will react to certain foods. He also has stomach issues and can become very gassy with some dog food. So far he has been eating Dogswell canned products without stomach problems. I mixed it in his regular Innova Evo small bites dry food and have not had any digestive problems. Must be easy to digest.
This is a protein rich food. The food is mostlyy Lamb and Beef. For carbohydrates the food uses potato starch and sweet potato. There are not meals, by-products, grains, corns, wheats, exhoxyquin, or artificial colors and flavors. Since it is lacking these ingredients this is a good food to feed to a dog suffering from allergies.
The food boasts that in will help to maintain Eyes, skin and coat. I do not have scientific evidence of this, but I will believe it's healthy. Quality ingredients will promote a healthier dog. I know for a fact high quality dog food like Dogswell makes your dog's coat shine and soft to the touch. The food is good for skin because it does not have common allergens for dogs. Dogs eating healthy are like humans eating healthy. What they eat will affect their long term health.
The food contains lamb from New Zealand and is made in the Untited States.
I normally mix in a loaf style canned food carried by Petsmart by Authority. Authority canned dog food does not compare to this product. Not only is the stew style Dogswell easier to mix with dry kibble bu it has Superior inggredients. Compare the food to what your feeding. The Ingredients Water Sufficient for Processing, Lamb, Lamb Liver, Beef, Beef Liver, Dried Egg Product, Salmon (Source of Omega 6 & Omega 3), Peas, Potato Starch, Sweet Potatoes, Guar Gum, Calcium Carbonate, Natural Flavor, Tricalcium Phosphate, Canola Oil (Source of Omega 3), Sodium Phosphate,Cranberries, Blueberries, Carrots, Spinach, Zucchini, Potassium Chloride, Flaxseed Oil (Source of Omega 3), Taurine, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Vitamin E Supplement, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Choline Chloride, Cobalt Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Riboflavin Supplement, Sodium Selenite, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin B-12 Supplement, Potassium Iodide, Biotin, Vitamin D-3 Supplement.
The ingredients make this a quality product.
My dog loves the food. He's not picky when it comes to canned dog food. I doubt many dogs would snob a canned food made from mostly meat. I will probably stick to this product for a while unless I come across another amazing dog food bargain.
