Wearing Italian-brand eyewear is a delicate line: you want to appear stylish. Sophisticated. Which means that a prominent logo is okay, as long as it's not uber-tacky (I'm fine with sparkle, but don't want bling). My latest pair of D&G eyeglasses feature the DG logo in goldtone letters filled with Swarovski crystals. The hinge falls between the "D" and "G." The frame is lightweight, with bronze-colored metal around the lenses giving way to tortoiseshell plastic-coated earpieces. The warm glow of the coppery metal and the tortoiseshell complement each other perfectly, and the crystals add sparkle and visual interest.
One thing that I did notice between these frames and my last set of Dolce & Gabbanas was that the arms were rather severely curved at the ends and gave me a major earache at the point behind my ears (imagine your skull in a vise for eight hours). I had to have the earpieces straightened, and then all was well. I've received several compliments after wearing them for the first time. They're stylish without being garish, and they're still made in Italy. I also recommend that you get these with Transitions lenses...then they double as stylish sunglasses (of course, if you want to go ALL the way, spring for http://www0.epinions.com/review/Prada_PR_65_IS_Sunglasses/content_485088398980).
If you don't mind spending up, these are cute, comfortable and trendy, and hopefully built to last. The carrying case that came with mine is a satin-covered clutch with the D&G logo in crystals...so you can travel in style!
