Pros:Nice kick, not too spicy, great on sandwiches or in soups.
Cons:GetGo is the only place that sells them.
The Bottom Line: If you like regular Doritos but want something with a little flava to it, give the Spicy Nacho variety a try.

Normally I am not in to spicy foods or snacks. It was a long running joke that when I started eating jalapenos or asking for hot pepper flakes for pizza it was a pretty good indication that I was pregnant. As far as the Spicy Nacho flavoring of these, it isn’t something that I would call overly spicy. The first few might have a little bit of a kick to them but since everything in them is from some sort of by product or an artificial flavoring its not like you are sucking on a red hot chili pepper. If you eat too many of them you will end up with orange tinged fingers; sort of like the Scarlet Letter of snacking. Being someone that gets heartburn if the wind is blowing the wrong way I was really thrilled that I could eat these and not have any problem with heartburn ten minutes later.
Out of the bag these are delish but you can add them to plain boring sandwiches for some extra flavor and crunch. It won't be a Priminti's but it will have a nice but messy crunch to it. I have used these to make taco salads when I ran out of tortilla shells to fry as well as in tomato soup. They do take a little while to get soggy in soup so toss them in while it is still hot so by the time it cools down the chips will be soft enough to cut in to smaller pieces or manageable to eat without having them flop off the spoon. Another great thing to do is to make nachos with these. Spread the Spicy Nacho Doritos on a baking sheet, top with cheese, spiced ground meat [precooked], black olives, chilies, jalapenos and whatever else you like on your nachos and bake until the cheese is melted. It is a quick thing to make for movies, tailgating or parties.
If you are counting calories, chances are you are going to want to skip on the Spicy Nacho Doritos because each single serving of one ounce contains 140 calories. Sure you are getting 2 grams of protein but that's not enough for the caloric count. There are 7 grams of fat too so that's a bad way to blow your numbers out of the water if you are a heavy snacker. Even though there are 18 grams of carbohydrates, only one is from sugar so at least you aren't completely screwed if you go overboard with these. Granted, these are a little better than eating potato chips but not by much. Stick with the smaller bags if you are easily tempted by snacks like this.
The only bad thing about these is that there is only one store in my area that sells them and that's GetGo. You would think that Giant Eagle would carry them since they own GetGo but that doesn't seem to be the case. They have regular Doritos but not the Spicy Nacho version. These aren't exactly a new product either so I can't see them being a hot item that they just can't seem to keep in stock. They have the Snack Size that costs .99 cents and the larger 14.5 ounce bags but those are pretty expensive – in the $3.50 range. The other Snack Size Doritos are $1.29 or $1.39 for the same size bag so I have no idea why these cost less. Maybe they are getting rid of them already or they are old stock. I would much rather get these in the smaller bags. There's less temptation to go crazy and start double fisting them until the bag is empty. Wal-Mart is supposed to have these but I can never find them in the snack aisle.
Suffice it to say, if you like something that is "more than tangy" but "less than hot", the Spicy Nacho flavor of Doritos is well worth checking out. I've only bought the large size bags for parties when GetGo had them on sale for two for five dollars. If I had the large bag around all the time I would eat way too many of them and since no one else likes spicy food, there's a good chance that even though they are in a foil bag, they would get stale in about a week. Needless to say, this is not the same as this Doritos offering
