We live in Arizona and this Dogloo is a great dog house for extreme cold or hot climates. Short of having an air conditioner installed it is the best dog house we could get for our dog. We live in Arizona with fairly cold winters at times and very hot summers. The Dogloo has been a comfort to our dog and us in both kinds of weather.
This classic igloo-shaped doghouse is excellent protection in windy weather which we get plenty of during our monsoons and microbursts.
Microbursts are mini tornadoes that touch down here with out warning and can knock down a tree. The shape of the igloo also promotes good heat circulation. The heavy duty plastic surrounds a structural foam which is
"Warmer in winter, cooler in summer”. The top of the dogloo has an adjustable top ventilation which can let in the amount of fresh air you choose.
We bought our Dogloo from a friend whose dog died; they no longer needed a dog house without a dog. She paid $100.00 dollars for it originally and we paid her $50.00. It included the optional door, but not the pad. We use a large overstuffed pillow that is specially made for dog beds. Our friend who owned it before us said that her dog loved the dogloo. It was used by her dog in the summer and the winter also.
We have a little dog, named Buster, and this dogloo is on the large size for him, but we are planning on getting another dog and they can both fit in it. The dimensions of the dogloo are about a yard in diameter and 26 inches high. The size of this dogloo is made for a medium size dog. It does come in sizes varying from small to extra large.
Buster was 10 months old when we got the house for him. I was afraid that he would not want to go in it since he had never been in a dog house before. He smelled it and wouldn’t go in at first, so we put some dog treats inside to coax him in. He went in and got the treats and came back out. It took about 6 times to get him to go in the house with out treats in it. He now loves it and goes in all the time. Buster still likes to chew a lot but can not get his tiny jaws on this strong dog house. No teeth marks can be seen anywhere on it.
This dogloo pops apart and is
very easy to clean. No rusting parts. It will last for a long time.
I am glad we bought this dog house. I feel better knowing that he will be protected from our extreme weather here in Arizona.
