I thought this stuff would be one of my best friends. My hair is long, thick and color treated. It’s hard to comb through my hair after I wash it because the ends tend to be dry. Unfortunately, this product just didn’t deliver like promised.
This is Dove’s Advanced Care Leave-in Replenishing Mist. It is a moisturizing spray that you put in your hair when it’s wet or dry, and you do not rinse it out. According to the bottle, it is for normal to dry hair with slight symptoms of dryness. This is supposed to detangle and reduce friziness and flyaways. It is a lightweight formula that shouldn’t weigh your hair down.
This comes in a nice blue spray bottle that is 9.25 fl oz. One bottle has lasted me a couple months using it everyday. It has a pleasant smell that doesn’t linger too much after use.
I spray it on my hair everyday after I wash it and it’s still wet. The directions say you can also use it on dry hair, but I’ve never tried that. I spray it all over my head, a little more at the ends where the problem area is. I comb through my hair afterwards. This product does not really make much difference in the ease of combing my hair. The detangling properties are not really pronounced. I blow-dry my hair afterwards. My hair never feels weighed down after using it, I can never tell that I’ve sprayed some hair stuff into my hair and didn’t rinse it out. My hair always feels fresh and clean even after spraying it on.
Unfortunately, like I said, I just don’t think this stuff really does the job. My hair is no easier to comb through after using it. Maybe 15% of the time after I use this, I think, wow, my hair really feels smooth and looks shiny today, but who really knows if that is because of this product. Perhaps if your hair is short and not so thick, this may be a good product for you, since it is lightweight. For people with long, thick hair I just don’t recommend it, due to the fact that it really doesn’t do much. I've just been using it because I figure it protects my hair a little while I blow-dry.
