Pros: wipes, can carry them with you, resealable package
Cons: does not leave fresh feeling
In my quest to clean my bathroom vanity of unused products, I ran across an old package of Dove Body Refreshers. I remember originally buying these about two years ago because the Lever 2000 wipes I had boughten somehow got left in my car and dried up in the hot Florida sunshine. They werent all that good, so I didnt actually mind this all that much.
Walking through Walgreens one day, on a nutrition bar excursion, I happened to come across these Dove Body Refreshers. They just happened to be on sale for $1.99, and looking through my saved coupons, I was able to find another $.50 off. So I snatched them up and threw them in my cart. My plan was to take them along with me on my next cycling excursion to see how they worked when my body was being tested to the max.
These Dove Body Refreshers wipes came in a light blue plastic package with a small white flap on the front. The flap opened to reveal a small oval like hole that the wipes were dispensed from. The flap closed back over the whole to prevent the wipes from being exposed to air, thus causing them to dry out quicker.
These 6-inch by 8-inch wipes came in a pack of fifteen, original or fresh scent. I bought the fresh scent smell that claimed they were alcohol free. These wipes are to gently wipe away perspiration and odor. These wipes also claim to be 1/4 moisturizer, to help leave skin feeling soft and beautiful.
The directions are obviously simple with these wipes. You peel back the wipe flap and remove one wipe from the whole, resealing the flap when you are finished. You can use these wipes on any exterior part of your body.
~ Ingredients ~
Water, Glycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Decyl Glucoside, Polysorbate 20, Methylparaben, Benzethonium Chloride, Sodium Citrate, Fragrance, Citric Acid, 2-Bromo-2-Nitr0-propane-1, 3-Diol, Tetrasodium EDTA.
I have to say that I have a love-hate relationship with these wipes and will continue to buy them only if they are on sale. They work for me in the sense that after a long hour or so at the gym, or a long bike ride I can count on these wipes to wipe away the lingering sweat I have on my body. But I cannot say that I feel fresh enough to go out in public without going home to take a shower.
I do like the fact that these wipes come in a small, plastic package instead of some plastic container like some other wipes I have seen. This leaves me the option of shoving them into my gym or cycling bag and not taking up too much space. And the alcohol free formula does do better with my skin because there are no harsh additives in these wipes.
I cannot say that the fresh scent is all that bad. Because of the alcohol free formula, you do not feel like you are bathing yourself in a tub of alcohol. You should always dispose of these wipes in the trash bin and not by flushing them down the toilet. You will most likely cause your toilet to clog if you do this.
I have purchased these wipes at Walgreens most of the time. I also received a package of them for free at Drugstore.com when I had purchased another product (cant remember what).
Overall, if you can find them on sale, then I would recommend buying them simply to have around in case something ever arose and you needed a quick cleaning job. Otherwise, for those into sports, I would look for something else that is going to make you feel fresher after a hard workout.
