Pros:Strong Cleaning Power, Cheap Price, Nice Consistency, Clean Smell
Cons:Too stripping of moisture, Irritating to scalp, does not live to claims!
The Bottom Line: If you have dry or damaged hair, look for a product with less harsh cleaning agents and skip this!
I have never been a huge fan of Dove products, but the idea of "weightless conditioners" really struck a chord in me. I have always wanted soft, healthy, smooth hair that wasn't weighed down so I finally gave in to all the hype and purchased the Dove Intense Moisture Shampoo. I washed my hair as normal, thoroughly drenching my hair and then adding about a quarter's worth of shampoo and massaging it into my scalp and hair. Then, I rinsed it out, expecting my hair to be completely smooth and tangle free, but to my horror, my hair just feel really squeaky clean, almost too clean and lacked moisture. This definately wasn't good for my fine yet plentiful wavy and dry locks, so I had to smother my hair in so much conditioner to attempt to revive the too clean feeling of my hair. This shampoo just seemed to clean, not moisturize, although it felt velvety in my hands before rubbing into my hair. Later, I found out, after I stopped using this product, that the main cleaning agents in this shampoo are the strongest of the detergents used in shampoos, which are : Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate. These cleansers can irritate a sensitive scalp (like mine), cause itching, tightness, although this does not happen to everyone who uses these detergents. Personally, I need a pH balanced shampoo that uses one of the most gentle detergents, which is Sodium Laureth Sulfate.
~Bottle~
The bottle that contains Dove's Intense Moisture Shampoo is in a tall slim bottle that is white and has a baby blue colored top that easily opens and releases just enough shampoo. The consistency of this shampoo is very nice, not too thick or too runny.
~Price~
This is a pretty inexpensive product, you can buy it at almost any mass retailer, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. I found mine for about $3.99 for 12 oz.
~Ingredients~

~Claims made by Dove~
"Dove® shampoo brings just the right amount of our unique Weightless Moisturizers® to the center of each hair strand, without weighing it down. The Intense Moisture formula delivers deep replenishment for dry or damaged hair. Dove® Intense Moisture Shampoo:
Intensely hydrates and restores dry hair
Leaves hair noticeably softer, smoother and more naturally vibrant."
~The Deal is...~
If you do not suffer from damaged or dry hair or tangled hair, and your scalp is normal to oily, you might benefit from the shampoo to clean your hair, because that it does do. However for my sensitive scalp, it was not gentle enough, or moisturizing enough.
