susiewho's Full Review: Dr. Bronner's Bronners Bar Soap Peppermint 5oz
I love scents, I love aromatherapy, I find different scents can produce different moods. I use Shower gels, special soaps, oils, room diffusers and a particular soap I have found to be both invigorating and charming (yes, charming) is Dr Bronner's Peppermint soap, a castile soapI've been a fan of Dr. Bronner's products for decades. I started using them as a student in college. I ran with an artsy bunch for a while and this is when I was instroduced to them. When I had children I felt these mild soaps were excellent for them. I never had to worry about allergys irritation.
The Bronner's soap bar is wrapped in 10% hemp-flax , 90% post-consumer recycled paper from Living Tree Paper Co. The charming part is all the wonderful information printed on the blue and white wrapper. You can find it for as little as $3.79 for a 5 oz bar.
Dr.Bronner's does offer unscented soap if you just want a good castile soap with no fragrance. You can also get this in a liquid form for $14.99 for 32 oz. (sometimes on sale for around $10.00) or a gallon size.
Dr.Bronners 60 year old company uses no animal products and does no animal testing. It's made with all one organic oils. You can find his soaps in Whole Foods and GNC stores. This scent is Peppermint. Peppermint is nature's deodorant. You can use the liquid version for bathing your pets, doing a wash, brushing your teeth, light cleaning or shaving. When you lather up with it you get a nice , envigorating Peppemint aroma. It smells so fresh you feel really clean when done. Castile is a vegetable based soap (not an animal or tallow fat soap). It's simple and ecologically sound. The hard bar soap uses sodium hydroxide. The soaps contain no foaming agents, they lather up because of the high coconut oil content. The labels are extremely charming, loaded witih Dr.Bronner's (yes there really is a Dr Bronner) philosophy. For example "Absolute cleanliness is next to Godliness!Teach the moral BC that Enjoy only two cosmetics, enough sleep and Dr Bronner's "Magic Soap" to clean body-mind-soul-spirit instantly uniting." There are many more rambling , inspiring sentences on the label.
Dr. Bronner would be over 100 if he was still alive. He was a German immigrant who lived in Escondido, California. He claimed to have the equivalent of a PhD in chemistry, thus a master chemist. He built his business into a 6 million dollar hit with the help of his sons.
Other versions: Almond, Lavender,Tea Tree and Baby Mild, Rose, Eucalyptus, Citrus, Lemongrass Lime,Cedar Eucalyptus, Organic Shikaki, Lavender Coconut and Spearmint Peppermint. Most of these come with matching cream lotions, shave gels and hair conditioner. You can wash your clothing or hair with this castile soap.
Dr Bronner's soaps are available in Australia, Canada, England, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
Keep out of eyes. Flush well with water for 15 minutes and call a physician if irritation persists.
