Translucent is as translucent does….so the saying goes….well, okay, it’s a new saying, but keep it in mind.
Dr. Hauschka skin care products are:
- all natural
- never tested on animals
- utilize organically grown botanicals as the majority of their ingredients
Dr. Hauschka skin care products, therefore, offer more than the average amount of fresh ingredients, fresh smells, and fresh skin. This from a gal who tries her hardest to eat healthy and figures that what I slather over my pores should be relatively healthy as well.
Translucent liquid make-up is Hauschka’s answer to heavy foundations. The answer, in fact, is “don’t do it”. Try instead a base make-up that evens out the skin tone without completely spackling and priming the face.
In this case mineral pigments are utilized to even skin tones with added benefits of natural elements to protect the skin instead of ‘simply’ covering it. Colors (“tints”, really) are simply lighter and darker – not a lot across the color spectrum (yet).
This is a good foundation alternative which may take some getting used to by those normally accustomed to wearing a lot of ‘war paint’. The natural benefits allow skin to feel lighter and freer – similar to going make-up free – but with the benefits of evening up what nature provided.
The downside is the higher price that goes along with a 1 fluid ounce container. If you are accustomed to higher priced foundations at cosmetics counters, the /- $36 will feel reasonable. Compared, however, to prices found at big box retailers the fee is a bit high. However, if you are in a position to commit to a health life on the inside, consider that what is smeared on your pores matters as much as what goes in your body. This is a good product to try and, of other all-natural products I’ve ‘test drove’, Dr. Hauschka makes a foundation-like product that is the best all natural substitute I’ve found. The scent is lovely, light, and perhaps a bit earthy. The coverage adequate. The feel sublime.
