bilbopooh's Full Review: Dr. Seuss - Dr Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Book
"BIG A, little a, what begins with A?" Once again, Dr. Seuss's simple repetitious style produces a winner. Why? Well, it's as simple as ABC! Many different books and toys exist to teach young children the alphabet, but this is one of the most imaginative. The fanciful pictures are a delight for one and all, with creations that could only come out of the mind of Seuss.
Each page consists of a sentence or phrase which includes several words beginning with a particular letter. From "Auntie Annie's Alligator" to the previously unseen narrator, the Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, each page is loaded with fun.
My favorite letters? "D -- David Donald Doo dreamed a dozen doughnuts and a duck-dog, too." "F -- Four fluffy feathers on a Fiffer-feffer-feff." "M -- Many mumbling mice are making midnight music in the moonlight...mighty nice." "O -- Oscar's only ostrich oiled an orange owl today." "U -- Uncle Ubb's umbrella and his underwear, too." "W -- Willy Waterloo washes Warren Wiggins who is washing Waldo Woo." "Y -- A yawning yellow yak. Young Yolanda Yorgenson is yelling on his back."
These are only a few of the delightful tongue twisters available in this book. And the pictures make them twice as entertaining! So pick up a copy today. Learning the alphabet has never been this much fun!
