Pros: great dental check ups
Cons: none for me
After my unfortunate experience with Pedigree Dentastix, I went back to the DreamBone Dental Chew, especially since Legacy turned his nose up at the Dentastix. I have been using DreamBone products, both the chicken treat and the dental chew for about two years now.
Unlike the standard DreamBone, these are dark green in color with a red thread through them. The red thread is the chicken, the green is the "man your breath smells good" ingredient which is made up of parsley seed oil and chlorophyll. There is no rawhide in any DreamBone products. Unlike rawhide, these are a quick chew that my guys get so eager for when I get them out they are practically giddy. They have a very smooth texture and I have yet to find a single scrap left anywhere after I give it to them, unlike those rawhide slivers and chunks you find lying around.
We consider the dental chew their Sunday treat, so we only give it once a week unless it is a special occasion, like a holiday and there are so many good smells going on in the house. The regular DreamBone we give daily although their website says you can give 1-2 of either/or of these treats daily. We don't want to overindulge, we want them to know their DreamBones are a special treat.

I really don't know what it is that gives them such results on their dental checkups, but our vet is highly pleased with our tartar free dogs and I'll never go back to those Dentastix again. After finding it more and more difficult for our grocer to keep up with our doggie needs [they always seem to have PLENTY of small/medium sizes], I went directly to the manufacturer, PetMatrix, and ordered a case of each for our guys. Oh Boy, were they happy to see that UPS man come!
thanks Billie for the lightning fast addition
