We tend to spoil our dogs by offering them a variety of treats. Just like humans, we feel it is fair to give them a different supply cause, let's face it, probably no one but me would be happy with having spaghetti and meatballs everyday. Our newest acquisition for our furry pets was Dream Bone and they love them.

They are similar to a rawhide chew bone but contain no rawhide. Unfortunately they only come in mini, small, and medium size so our big boys work through them in no time flat. Unlike a rawhide they are almost soft and pliant to the touch with a smooth finish. Also unlike rawhide there are no slivers and crumbs lying about when they are done eating them. The outer layer is made from a variety of vegetables and the inner treat is chicken jerky.
Our vet has always applauded the condition of the dental care of our dogs even though we often give them things they probably shouldn't have. On the other side, we have always searched out acceptable chews to keep their gums and teeth healthy but we haven't always been pleased with the rawhide route. For one thing it always seemed like there was too much debris after they finished eating and for another they often don't finish it and I've stepped on way too many half chewed bones. With these Dream Bones there isn't crumb one left over and they still get the chewing exercise they need and desire.
Ingredients include [copied from their website]:
Corn, Chicken, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Fructose, Pork Gelatin, Barley Malt Syrup, Maltodextrin, Sweet Potatoes, Peas, Carrots, Dicalcium Phosphate, Salt, Titanium Dioxide, Milk Flavor, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate (preservative), Sodium Pyrophosphate, Sodium Propionate (preservative), Sodium Tripolyphosphate, FD&C Red 40
Do these things taste good? I have no idea nor am I going to sample them to find out. I do know one thing, if I lay a Dream Bone and a rawhide bone down side by side, our guys go to the Dream Bone every time. That isn't to say they won't come back later and try to score that rawhide too, they are dogs after all. Personally I prefer to offer these to our guys over the rawhide, they just seem to enjoy them more.
Thanks to Billie for adding this to the database for me
