Finn_ONeill's Full Review: Morgan Llywelyn - Druids
This is my favorite book of all. Morgan Llewellyn paints the essence of the entire ancient Celtic culture of the Gaels with "Druids".
This book is a historical fiction, including an extensive Bibliography, about the life of a boy becoming a Druid during the time of Julius Ceasar's conquest of Gaul.
Llewellyn's extensive knowledge, research and writing ability takes you back to 50 B.C. and plants you firmly in the head of Amergin, the main character. You feel his emotions, love those whom he loves and hate those whom he hates. You live in Amergin's world. Llewellyn's ability to create an beautiful epic, a 400 page long poem, will keep you captive from beginning to end. I warn you, you cannot put this book down, literally.
All I can say is read it. It's hard to describe the images Morgan Llewellyn plants in you head when she describes the battle at Georgvia, the Marriage Ceremony of Amergin, or the political manipulation of the chieftains.
