If you are having trouble getting those patio doors to slide easy or those garden hoses to screw onto the spigot and seal tightly, then Dupont makes the lubricant to take care of these problems. They make several kinds of lubricants but the one most commonly used is the Teflon Multi-Use Lubricant. They also offer Teflon chain saw lubricant, Teflon Non-Stick lubricant, Teflon Penetrant, Teflon Silicone Lubricant, and a Teflon Snow & Ice Repellent. These products are all high performance and will not attract small debris like all of the oil based products do. You can find this product at Lowe’s for only 5.99 for an 11 ounce spray can.

This 11 ounce can is an aerosol spray and comes with a 4” red straw to help pin point the spray on the area that you are trying to lubricate, The main reason that I purchase this product was because I was having trouble closing my patio doors. I have found that the wrong way of lubricating a sliding glass door was by using WD-40, this only added to the problem by using a lubricant that would attract debris and let all of those particles to build up and stop the door from sliding easily. By using this product it places a clear film on the door rails and dries clear to help the door slide easily. This goes on wet but will help penetrate or loosen frozen and rusted parts. This will dry to a clean clear looking surface. The film will prevent and not absorb and dirt or grime that the tracks will get from pets or foot traffic that will collect over time. This will also help any water from building up and any rust from starting. This will not wash or rub off. This helps protect against and rust or corrosion from reappearing, and helps repel water. This has not affected the surface of any painted surfaces that we have put this in contact with.
Since we have purchased this we have found other uses for it, these include any in home areas with moving parts and a lot of tools located in my tool box. You will be surprised at the smooth way that this will make your garage door open and close. All of my lawn and garden hand tools with moving parts immediately show less friction and move a lot easier with this on their blades. My son has a boat and we use this constantly to prevent any corrosion and to keep the moving parts from getting eaten up by the summer and water abuse.
There are a lot of uses that you can find for this product. We have also used this other things such as: motorcycle, ATV and go-kart chains, any springs, rollers, tracks, hinges, windows, sliding tracks, locks, latches, winches, hitches, ramps, pivots, cams, pulleys. Also any threaded parts and rusted bolts, or any heavy duty zippers. Even firearms, fishing reels, RC vehicles and bicycle chains don’t stand a chance. Around the shop the table saws, hand tools, wood working tools and folding knives will stay free and clear of corrosion. All of my lawn and garden tools and equipment are looking and working a lot better. This product can also withstand 300° F for all of those hot summer days.
If you can not afford this stuff you can always do what they call a cheap way to lubricate you doors and that is you take a crayon and break it in half, then run the crayon back and forth on the track several times. This should solve your sticky patio door temporarily. But if you want a more long last fix, then this is the product that you could use. Dupont Teflon Multi Use lubricant has a lot of other uses and your money will not be wasted. Five stars for ease of use and cost effectiveness.
