Pros:Fudge syrup adds to the moist, delicious flavor.
Cons:NONE NOTED
The Bottom Line: Brownies are a dandy starting point for several nice desserts for the church potluck or school Monday Munch.

Pinnacle Foods Group® LLC Brand, Duncan Hines™ Chocolate Lover’s Double Fudge Brownie Mix is one of the many brands of Brownie mix Husband and I like.  Offered in a 17.6 oz package; this carton is  easily obtained from the shelves of most larger grocery stores.

Signature red carton with White open book Logo bearing the words Duncan Hines in red set against a plum hued ribbon with white letters has been replaced with new packaging.

Duncan Hines®. So moist. So delicious. And so much more™, is now found in a carton still showing the open book logo with red Duncan Hines letters, however the balance of the carton face is all new.  Double Fudge in fudgey letters is set against a light to darker orange box set beside a black one bearing the word Decadent.

The mix inside touted as - same great brownie mix in a brand new box -  does not seem to be changed.  The appetizing, deep chocolate flavor Husband I have enjoyed in the past remains just as tasty in part due to that small packet of additional, super flavorful fudge syrup added to cause already moist and delectable brownies to be a tad bit more so.

I especially take pleasure in the heady scent of these double fudge brownies during baking.  The bouquet of Chocolate Lover’s Double Fudge Brownie fills the kitchen with a welcome and hospitable fragrance as it bakes. The aroma drifts with a promise of something delicious as Husband comes back to the house for supper after tending to critters out at the barn.  That is especially nice on those cold, inhospitable dreary winter evenings.

Husband and I enjoy Brownies, he nearly as much as a lovely cake, and I definitely more than a slice of cake.  I like that the mix can be used to make a quick pan of brownies to be enjoyed for a tasty after supper dessert at the end of my teaching day.  Whether baked in the conventional oven during late fall and winter or in the microwave during the more heated months brownies are a delight.

I like that this mix can be used to generate a nice pan of brownies just the size for Husband and I to enjoy for dessert with some left over for a later in the evening munch with a warm cup of coffee.

Brownies are a dandy starting point for several nice desserts for the church potluck or school Monday munch.

Husband and I do not need a lot of left over muffins, brownies or corn bread on the counter waiting to be eaten. The smaller size mixes are a dandy size for just Husband and myself, and the larger size mixes are also a dandy size for when I am baking for more than just Husband and myself.

Happy to recommend Pinnacle Foods Group® LLC Brand, Duncan Hines™ Chocolate Lover’s Double Fudge Brownie Mix is one of the many brands of Brownie

Note:  while pan sizes and materials may vary due to size, glass or metal; all produce fine brownies.  Smaller width pans having deeper depth produce a thicker brownie and require  more baking time than does a pan having less depth  and more width.

Per the Duncan Hines website:
Metal Or Glass Pan:
13 x 9 inch: 25-28 minutes
9 x 9: 36-40 minutes
8 x 8: 38-41 minutes

From the Duncan Hines site come directions for preparing Fudgy Brownies, Cake like Brownies and those having less fat.

I prefer cakelike, less fat and use directions accordingly when making brownies.

1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil

Cake-like Brownies:

Reduce baking time 1-2 minutes.

PREHEAT oven to 350°F for glass or metal pans, 325°F for dark or non-stick pans.
GREASE bottom of pan with shortening.
.
Mix: EMPTY brownie mix, egg(s), oil and water in large bowl.

Internet search including the Duncan Hines website indicates:  while there was an actual person bearing the name Duncan Hines; his role regarding formation of a company producing Duncan Hines products appears as a result of 1940 - 50s travels as a salesman, and his eating at varied restaurants which lead to Hines publishing a book listing restaurants and what hungry travelers might expect while dining at those restaurants rather than his forming a company preparing products for sale under the Duncan Hines name.

As a weekly food columnist Hines developed a following depending on his recommendations regarding both food and lodgings, and by 1952 allowed his name to be used by Durkee’s Bakery Company for the Duncan Hines Bread.

1953   Hines sold rights to his name to the formation of Hines Park® Foods; with licensing of the name to various food production entities soon following.

Nebraska Consolidated Mills® formulated and marketed the first cake mixes

1957   Nebraska Consolidated Mills sold the cake mix business to Proctor and Gamble® with later acquisition to Pinnacle Foods Group®
