Wow, I can't believe my favorite brand of coffee is here on epinions, so I will write a review of it. I would like to start out by telling you all that I absolutely LOVE coffee. I usually drink about two or three cups a day (which will probably lead to a stomach ulcer down the road, but at least coffee is an anti-oxidant). Dunkin Donuts coffee is probably the best bang for the buck in terms of taste and quality.
Here is what I think of the actual coffee beans. The beans themselves are of a very good quality, with some flavoring added in to help it along. This is very different from Starbucks beans, which doesn't add any flavoring at all. You might notice that Dunkin Donuts coffee has a distinctive "aroma" to it - well this is probably the effects of the flavoring more than anything else. I have read reviews of this coffee in which the characteristic taste is blamed on a lack of cleanliness in the machinery involved (when one goes to buy a cup of the brew made at the store). Well this is not the case at all. It just so happens that Dunkin Donuts uses industrial strength coffee machines to brew their coffee - so what you get is a more powerful cup of coffee than what you would brew at home using a puny Mr. Coffee (or what have you). In any event, what I am trying to say is that coffee that doesn't have any added flavoring is really really BAD tasting .
As for the acidity, well it is average. It is a very different coffee than what you would get at Starbucks - which has such a high acidity level that you might feel like an ulcer is forming in your stomach as you drink it. The body of the coffee is a bit lacking, as it is just a very smooth tasting coffee. There are no "overtones" as they call them in the cigar industry. Flavored coffees taste like they are flavored, but the coffee isn't "bursting" with flavor (unless you buy a cup of brewed coffee at a Dunkin Donuts).
One morning I was watching the Today Show on NBC and low and behold, there was a segment that reviewed the best coffees that one can buy. I remember that Dunkin Donuts coffee was rated the third best coffee out there (I don't remember the two that came before). That is amazing! To think that the coffee that is used in a donut franchise (and that only costs a dollar for a small cup, $7 or $8 for a pound) is one of the highest rated coffees in the world is very ironic.
I believe that there are four varieties available - regular, decaf, hazelnut and french vanilla. My only complaint is that I wish they would add another flavor to the available selections, and that would be caramel. I once had caramel flavored ice coffee and it was delicious! If they sold caramel beans then Dunkin Donuts coffee would be the only coffee I would ever drink.
