| Kelway76's Full Review: Dunlop D60/A2 All-Season Passenger/Performance Tir... |
Having read the reviews on many tires, I chose the Dunlop D60 A2 Because it had the highest rating, and the price was much more reasonable than the inflated sticker of the Goodyear or Michelin tires. I was very proud of myself, managing to get the tires for around $60 each. After having now had 2 sets on 2 different cars, an '88 Acura Integra and an '85 Toyota MR2, I can honestly say that it is the best tire I have ever had.
The Dunlop greatly improved the confidence I had in the handling of my car. Dry grip is tenacious up to its limits, at which the tires emit a howl just in time to warn of loss of traction. Many other tires I have had have an annoying howl during just moderate cornering. The ride is smooth and quiet, but firm enough to remind of the tires performance orientation.
The most impressive thing about the D60 A2, however, was the wet traction. I had become accustomed approaching corners in the rain with a very tentative reserve, but found myself hardly slowing at all with the Dunlop's. No tire is going to make wet roads dry, but the D60 A2 definitely gave me peace of mind that I could stop, in an emergency, without barreling into the car ahead of me.
I am a driving enthusiast, and great tires can make more difference in the driving experience than you might think. Confidence in your machine is paramount during spirited drives, and that's what the Dunlop D60 A2 provides, with it's great wet or dry traction. It might save you a few bucks, too.
