| Birdfeather's Full Review: Dunlop WB2850 Women's Bowling Shoes |
My husband and I decided to take up bowling again several months ago. We used to bowl when the children were babies and would bring a playpen to the bowling alley. The noise didn't seem to bother them much...they would snooze on. Before heading out to the bowling alley, I decided to check out my bowling bag and equipment. I thought I better try my shoes on since they hadn't been worn in several years. It was a good thing I did because after 15 years of being in the closet either the shoes shrunk or my foot grew. Upon discovering this, I told my husband to try his on. He was very positive that his would be just fine. Wrong! We both needed new bowling shoes!
Shopping For New Shoes
Our first choice of stores was The Academy . They always have a good variety of styles and brands to choose from. Even with a specialty shoe, we both had several styles and brands to choose from. I chose the Dunlop Style #WB2850. The style of these bowling shoes looks just like a tennis shoe except for the leather pad stitched underneath the upper toe section, commonly called the "slide pad". I found that the Dunlop Bowling Shoe fit my foot the best. I have a short but wide foot with a very narrow heel. I have a hard time finding shoes that do not slip up and down on my heel and have a good arch support. The Dunlop Style #WB2850 was the only bowling shoe in the store that did not slip up and down on my foot. We have a SALE here...bingo!
Comfort And Style
The Dunlop Style #WB2850 was very comfortable to wear even on my first bowling outing. I found that they broke-in very easily and did not hurt my feet in any way. The arch gave my foot the support it needed and the narrow heel also let me bowl a decent game without my shoe slipping up and down. The insole has a double padding which makes this shoe very comfortable. It is also removable for washing. It also has a special mid-sole that has a foam bed inside. No wonder these shoes are so comfortable! Dunlop #WB2850 is made from a synthetic leather material. They will wipe clean with a damp cloth with a little cleaning compound. Price was very reasonable at only $19.99 a pair. The men's style was slightly more, priced at only $24.99 a pair.
Company Information
Marketed by Dunlop and distributed by various sporting goods stores. I purchased my Dunlop Bowling Shoes at The Academy.
Final Thoughts
Great pair of bowling shoes, you will get you money's worth out of this pair and quickly look for same brand to replace them with! 5 stars!
