Almost 2 years ago, on a trip to Costco, my husband convinced me we needed to purchase the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK!  I didn't take much convincing.  We live in Oregon, and this was shortly after the 3 climbers went missing on Mount Hood, AND the Kimm family was stranded in the west part of the state.  Both groups of people could have possibly had better survival odds had they had their cell phones!  When I saw that the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK had a built in cell phone charger, I was hooked. 

The DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK featured 2 good sized flashlights, with built-in AM/FM/weather band radio, AND a port for charging a cell phone.  The flashlight itself is fairly heavy, weighing 9.5 ounces.  Its weight is not evenly balanced, with most of it toward the light end.  I think this makes it seem heavier than it actually is.  The light is supplied by 3 very bright LEDs.  The LEDs provide more light for a longer time per charge.  There is also a secondary light that blinks.  This light has a red cover, so this would allow you to use the flashlight as an emergency beacon.
 
The radio portion of the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK is controlled by 3 knobs on the front of the flashlight.  One knob is for volume.  This knob has broken on one of our flashlight units, and I was saddened by it.  It doesn’t affect the other functions of that flashlight, and it really only affects the use of ear phones on that flashlight.  The volume button still turns the radio on, it is just always on full volume. There is a larger station knob, used to find all AM/FM/ and weather band stations.  You choose which type of radio you wish to listen to with the third button.  For FM radio usage, there is a short radio antenna that extends from the end of the padded handle.
 
There is one more button on the face.  It is the flashlight on/off button.  It also has the option to use the blinker.  If the button is in the off position, you can push it in for a quick flash of light.  This is good for a quick check of your surroundings without having to turn the flashlight all the way on.  The light is on for as long as you press the button in.
 
On the side, is a charging station.  There is a DC-in 5V port, a USB out port, an earphone jack, and a switch to for in USB out.  The charging ports allow for charging of the flashlight unit using a USB cable and your computer, with the included cables.  The USB out port also allows you to use the included cable to charge a cell phone.  There are many adapters provided with the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK, but it doesn’t charge all.  You will need to either find another adapter, or make sure you have a phone that is compatible. 
 
On the back of the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK is perhaps the coolest and most useful feature.  There is a crank that you turn to charge the internal battery in the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK.  The crank fits into a nice little slot when you are not charging the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK.  When you need to charge the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK simply flip the crank into position and turn.  It takes at least a full minute of rather quick turning to charge the internal battery.  You can feel when the internal battery is full, as there is suddenly resistance when turning the crank.
 
While we thankfully haven’t had to use our DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK in an emergency, we do use them regularly in everyday life.  We know that when cranked the internal battery will provide light from the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK for at least an hour.  Duracell only advertises that the light will last for 1 hour with 1 minute of cranking, so our experience is likely about average.  We haven’t really used the radio much, but on AM radio it lasts about 20 minutes before needing to recrank for more power.   As for charging a cell phone, well that would require a lot of cranking, but if you were stranded, a lot of cranking would be the last of your worries!  Even if you could get only enough battery in your cell phone to allow it to “ping”, it could be the ping that saves your life!
 
Before I end this, I should mention that the handle of the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK is padded and comfortable to hold.  There is also a built in strap for securing to your wrist.  The strap could also be used to hang the DURACELL CRANK LIGHT 3 IN 1, 3 Led FLASHLIGHT, RADIO, CHARGER, 2 PACK from a tree or belt loop or anywhere else you might desire to hang it.
