| katopasna's Full Review: Barbie Pink Aluminum Scooter |
Back in May my youngest daughter turned 5 and I was completely ready to buy of girls new bikes since their other ones are getting small for them. We hit Toys R Us and while we were browsing neither one of them seemed really interested in a new bike and that is when I saw the Dynacraft Pink Barbie Scooter on sale. The girls have asked over and over for a scooter but I never gave in and since these were on sale for $20.00 I caved. I ended up buying two new scooters for less then the price of one bike.
The scooter was completely assembled when I took it out of the box. It was just completely folded and only needed adjusting for height. The foot deck is 20 inches long and the handles can be adjusted up 31 inches high. Maximum weight is 132lbs so that means mom couldnt show them how to use this. It is completely decorated in the typical pink Barbie style so if your daughter loves Barbie then this wont disappoint.
At first I was kind of worried but my 6 year old has mastered this like a champ and can zip around like she has been doing it for years. The 5-year-old birthday girl can go but just not as quickly but she also doesnt have her older sisters determination either. There is no kickstand on this so it ends up laying down outside or my daughter has found that if she hangs the front wheel off our deck it magically stands on its own. I dont think she knows that there is a friction brake on the back wheel but neither of them have a problem stopping when they want too.
The Dynacraft Pink Barbie Scooter is recommended for kids from 4-7 years old. This is also perfect for traveling to grandmas house because it can be folded and stored in an 8 inch area. Now folding and unfolding is another story
personally I think it is a pain in the butt and my kids definitely couldnt do it themselves so we just leave it up right to store. Maybe in the winter I will fold them up (if I remember how) and put them away.
Anyhow both my girls and pretty satisfied with their new scooters so we will recommend this. I have to also seriously suggest using proper helmets and pads when out and about with this since there is always a chance one can fall on here. Just ask my girls
