Pros: Too numerous to mention (especially in 15 words), but biggest things are suction & disposal.
Cons: Accessing wand attachment is clumsy and time-consuming. Not much else though.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend a Dyson to anyone! It's the best vacuum I've ever owned. I just recommend people to use eBay in buying a new one (only a new one).
fbjljs's Full Review: Dyson DC07 Allergy Blue/Turquoise Bagless Upright ...
I have had other vacuums before (usually Hoover's) and originally was interested in the Wind Tunnel because of it's good reviews from Consumer Reports. After reading other's reviews about how bad it was in breaking down and burning out motors, I decided that sometimes Consumer Reports just doesn't know what it's talking about. By the same token, Consumer Reports seems to speak poorly of the Dyson, but reviews again defy their correctness on this. I decided to get a Dyson. It is, by far, the best vacuum I have ever had! Sure it's not perfect, but what is? It was very easy to assemble and has been no trouble ever since! (Except for the time, shortly after getting it when I disassembled everything to find out more about how it works and forgot to reattach the small hose on the bottom. This caused my son to think that the Dyson was lousy on suction. Makes a big difference when the hose is attached! duhh!) I love the suction, the ease of cleaning it and dumping the contents, the powerful motor, etc., etc., etc. I got the pink and purple one because of the extra tool that came with it, but I think it's probably a better bargain to get the cheaper yellow one and buy the extra tool separate. In fact, my kids are now old enough to go off to college and get an apartment together, but they needed a vacuum. We have had this Dyson for a few years now and it's still as good as they day we got it, so we decided to get them a Dyson for their carpeted apartment also. This time we decided to get the yellow one, and we got it new off of eBay saving over a hundred dollars. I've learned to love eBay also, but that's another story. The only Cons I can think of is accessing the wand is awkward, clumsy, and a bit time-consuming, but fine once you got it out. My suggestion is to get everything done with the main vacuum at one time and get everything done with the wand at another time. Don't plan on going back and forth between using the wand and then the main vacuum. As far as it not being self propelled, other vacuums I've had that were, either bumped into too many things I didn't intend it to, or fighting with it not to was more of a pain for me. The Dyson I found was very easy to move and I actually prefer it to self-propelled vacuums. Yes, if you do actually have to pick it up, it can be a bit weighty, but I usually don't. The Pros are just too numerous to list, so I won't.
In short, I love my Dyson and would recommend it to anyone!
