There are plenty of reviews here with helpful information about this vacuum, so I won't reiterate specifics. I know when I'm about to buy something I come to epinions to read what real people who have lived with a product say. This vac is big bucks no doubt, but let me tell you that if I could only grab a few things if I had to leave our house suddenly...after the pictures of our kids and family were all safe...this would be what I'd grab next.
Yes. It's that good.
I have four dogs, four cats and three birds. I vacuum constantly and let me tell you this vac is worth every penny, IMHO. I'm 52 years old so I've had few vacs in my day. I also live in a house that has a central vac system (which I hate by the way) and so I feel that my two cents of kudos for this vac carries a bit of weight for anyone thinking of buying one.
I can vac with my central vac...then re-vac with my dyson and you won't believe the hair I get that the central vac never touched. Or any other vac for that matter (I've tried two good brand others) and the dyson picked up hair after THOSE too.
The only drawback that I will mention that is a definite con, is that this vac is strong and you cannot turn down the suction when you need to vacuum those small rugs we all have either in our baths or in front of the kitchen sink or by the back door. For me, I've found a way around it. And it's worth it to me for the rest of the Dyson performance....I just vacuum the rugs in one direction only (rather than back and forth as you usually do with a vacuum).
Yeah, it's a bit of a pan to get to the end of the rug, bring it around to the front and go in one direction again...but the rugs are small and it's not that big of a deal (for me).
Other than that...if you have critters....that shed, molt, throw seed everywhere, you will love this vacuum.
