lovemyboxer's Full Review: Dyson Ball DC24 Bagless Upright Vacuum
When I first pulled this out of the box, I thought it looked like a child's toy vacuum! It is really that compact. The DC24 upright is easy to maneuver and store. For health reasons, I needed to trade in my heavier vacuum for something more lightweight. The DC24 is approximately 11.5 lbs, which was about the lightest upright vacuum I could find. I have been pleased to find that it still cleans very effectively. I have shedding dogs, and it picks up animal hair without difficulty, even on the hard floors. My old Kenmore just kind of blew the pet hair around. I was concerned that "the ball" might just be a gimick, but I am delighted with that feature as well. It makes it very easy to move around the house in all directions. The DC24 ball is pretty low profile and you can navigate under a lot of furniture without having to move it around. My biggest complaint is that the fill cup is pretty undersized. If you are cleaning a big area, and have a dusty, animal hair filled house like me, you'll probably need to empty the cup multiple times per vacuuming session. My only other complaint is that the power cord is pretty short. I find I have to move it around several times as I work through my house. I am so happy with the weight, slim storage profile, effectiveness of cleaning, and maneuverability, that overall, I highly recommend the DC 24.
