EPT Home pregnancy test - Are you addicted to peeing on a stick?

My Story
I should invest in stock for home pregnancy tests. I have 3 beautiful children after 10 pregnancies. I have used more Home pregnancy tests than Wal-Mart stocks in a year and I have tried them all. After 6 years of infertility treatments I was blessed with my oldest child. When Wayne was 3 years old we started trying again and after many losses we finally conceived my daughter Madeline. My youngest Noe is my Excuse me! I am what??? Baby who came 4 months after yet another D&C.
I suffer from PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome) and because of that not all tests are accurate with me or the lines are so thin and light you just can't tell if it is a positive or not and lets face it, you don't want to wait any longer than you already have to find out if you are pregnant. I mean the 2 week wait after you ovulate is mind and gut wrenching enough as it is.
Why I like EPT
One of the reasons I have trusted EPT in the past is that it is very easy to read and very accurate and unlike most tests the lines are very dark. Also fertility medications such as Clomid, Femara and Serophen do not effect this test and when you are going through fertility you don't want a false positive or false negative on a home pregnancy test.
EPT is very easy to use and very accurate. As with most tests there is always a risk of having a false test or having a test that doesn't register at all. Also EPT does not list a time limit to read the test although I do recommend that you wait 5 minutes to read the test and don't take any reading for fact if it was read after 20 minutes of taking the test to avoid any false readings.
EPT makes it so much easier to find out NOW if you are pregnant or not instead of having to drive to the Dr., give blood and wait for them to call you back with the results. It is kind of like having your very own science lab in the privacy of your own home.
I only speak English and I don't read or speak a lick of Spanish but the EPT instructions come in English and Spanish and they include excellent diagrams and photographs. ETP also has separate testing and control windows so this makes reading it a lot easier
It also has a splash guard over the test area to prevent urine from splashing up on the test and messing with the results. .
What I don't like about EPT
Unlike other tests on the market, you have to wait till the day your period is late in order to use EPT and if you are a POAS addict (Pee on a stick) then this is really hard to do. EPT is also one of the most expensive on the market but you get what you pay for and this test works!
Do you really need a thumb grip on a pregnancy test? I mean sure it enhances the look but who all is going to be seeing this test?
How do I use an EPT
First of all remove the e.p.t. test stick from its foil packet before you use it, I know this sounds silly that I would bring it up but you would not believe the number of people that are clueless about some things. Remove the purple cap to expose the absorbent tip. Hold the test stick by its thumb grip (that useless but appealing looking ridged end). Point the absorbent tip downward. Place the absorbent tip in the urine flow for just 5 seconds, or dip the absorbent tip into a clean container of urine for just 5 seconds. I do not recommend dipping the test into a container. For some reason it takes the test longer to read. When you are done just place the test stick on a flat surface with the windows facing up for at least 3 minutes (I typically waited 5 minutes). You can replace the cap back on the absorbent tip if wish, this will not effect the test results. With in minutes you should notice a light pink color moving across the windows.
Now the insert says that you should wait at least 3 minutes before lifting the stick so that you don't effect the results. Now I personally have held these in my hands while waiting for results and have not had any problems but I assume there is a reason they tell you this.
Ok so you have waited the mind numbing and gut wrenching 3 minutes and now it is time to read the results. A line will appear in the square window to show that the test is working properly. If you see a line in the round window then congratulations are in order because you are PREGNANT! Now it is ok if the lines are different shades of pink, A line is a line no matter how dark it is. Be sure to read the result before 20 minutes have passed so that you get an accurate reading.
Ok there is no line in the square window, what do I do?
If no line appears in the square window at all then the test result is invalid. So don't read the result. I have had this happen on 2 occasions with EPT and I called the toll-free number 1-800-378-1783 (1-800-EPT-1STEP) and I was sent a new test with in a week.
EPT also has registered nurses available and consumer specialist available to help with any questions that you may have, it just doesn't get any better than that.
