I recently got this motherboard with a bundled deal from TigerDirect.com. It also came with an AMD Slot A 950 Mhz Athlon processor. It was pretty cheap, but turned out to be a really good deal.
This motherboard was really easy to install and I didn't need any kind of special drivers to get it working, which is a great plus! The BIOS is full of options for setting and customizing the various features.
Everything on board is clearly marked and in a comfortable position, making it easier to work with this piece of hardware. Sometimes motherboards are all crammed together and make them more time consuming to prepare or support.
The on board audio is really crummy. I had it for a while and it was always making popping sounds and having bits of static. Luckily, there is an option in the BIOS to completely disable it, so I was able to add a Sound Blaster Live, which is about a million times better anyway.
Also, the built in joystick port is not compatible with Windows ME. This is SO STUPID, but Windows ME will actually detect the joystick port, then have the audacity to tell you that it can't use it, so it is automatically disabled in your hardware settings. What a bunch of poo!
Also, one thing I noticed is that the built in parallel port connection seems a bit flimsy. When I am connected a printer cable, the plug gives a little bit, which makes me a little nervous about possible bending or breaking something. It has held together and I don't often unplug the parallel cable, but I think they should have made this a little more sturdy.
If you find yourself in the market for a Slot A motherboard, and need something low priced and useful, check out this EPoX. I'm happy with it.
