I have a one year old little girl who weighs 26 pounds and is 29 inches tall.  She loves to go to sleep at night in her Ergo Carrrier.  I too love it because she goes to sleep in about 5 minutes.

My Ergo Baby Carrier was a gift and is tan and made with durable canvas.  It allows me to carry my baby in the front or on my back or side.  Currently my little girl likes to ride in it facing me on my front. There are several well padded straps that allow for maximum comfort for both of us.  I like to keep the straps tight to provide a good hold for her as well as for our safety.  Each strap securely fits into a clasp which is attached to the carrier.  I am able to put on the carrier and load her up by myself which is no easy feat and that is what other baby carriers lack.  Generally you need two adults to safely put a baby in and out of a carrier.  The Ego allows me to be self sufficient.

I first secure the strap around my waist, put my baby on my stomach and then affix the two shoulder straps with a click each.  I then adjust the straps for comfort.  Each strap has a good safety elastic band that prevents the baby slipping in the event the strap becomes unclicked.  That's it! We're off. Even after wearing the ERGO for longer periods of time, I am always comfortable, my back never hurts. This was always an issue with other baby carriers that I used previously.  After ten minutes my back would start to ache. 

There is a head covering (canopy) that we use sparingly if out in the sunshine.  I have used this a few times and the privacy feature is nice.  Most of the time, however it is neatly tucked away.  The Ergo is lightweight, safety conscious, comfortable for both of us, provides good support and allows me bundle up and down my baby when I am solo. 

There are a few pockets on the front that allow me to put small items in such as keys or money, credit cards or small cell phone.  There are a few clips that would allow me to clip my key chain onto but I have never used them.  An instructional DVD came with the carrier and walks you through several scenarios of how you might want to configure your Ergo. 

I have used the ERGO at the grocery store, at the mall, and for general housework.  It is great to have your hands free! I have been using the Ergo for my daughter when she was about 4 months.  Before that, she was just too small.  I expect to continue to use the Ergo until she reaches 30 pounds. 

My daughter now recognizes that when she sees the Ergo it is time for a comfortable nap!
